Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences (HAW) focuses on technology, business, design and health as well as computer science as an integrating cross-sectional competence. The university is spread over three locations: Kaiserslautern, Pirmasens and Zweibrücken. The Department of Computer Science and Microsystems Engineering at the Zweibrücken site is home to two main research areas:
1.) Integrated Miniaturized Systems (IMS).
2.) Reliable Software-Intensive Systems (ZUSIS)
We are convinced that complex scientific and technical challenges of the modern world can only be solved by synergetic interaction of nature and engineering sciences. Therefore, we foster the close interaction of applied life sciences with micro- and nanotechnologies as well as computer science. One focus of our work is on micro- and nanotechnological processes, which ensure a wider range of applications.
In addition, we are involved in the promotion of young scientists and the integration of immigrant MINT specialists. Examples include the BM=x³ project and the work of the Institute for Development through Qualification (EQUAL).
