Precision, Photonics & Optics: Innovations for Medical Applications

At W3+ Fair Wetzlar, one of the leading trade fairs for optics, photonics and precision technologies, IVAM will again host a dedicated session - this year focusing on medical applications.

Session “Precision, Photonics & Optics: Innovations for Medical Applications” 

The session “Precision, Photonics & Optics: Innovations for Medical Applications” on March 19, 2026 is jointly organized by the IVAM Focus Group Photonics and the IVAM Focus Group Medical. It highlights innovations at the intersection of photonics, optics, precision engineering and medical technology, fostering targeted interdisciplinary exchange.

The session will feature technical, application-driven presentations, covering topics such as:

• optical and photonic systems for medical applications
• precision components, sensors and imaging technologies
• biotechnological, micro-optical and mechatronic solutions
• enabling technologies for diagnostics, therapy and medical devices

Call for participation:

IVAM invites companies, research institutes and technology providers to actively contribute to this session. We are looking for practical, technology-focused presentations showcasing concrete applications, development approaches or innovation potential in the medical field.

The session is aimed at developers, R&D managers and technology decision-makers from medical technology, optics, photonics and microtechnology and offers a platform for knowledge exchange, visibility and networking.
