From Hype to Reality: Discover Cross-Industry Sensor Innovation

In cooperation with the regional network detect, IVAM once again brings together leading technology experts to discuss current developments in sensor technologies and open up new perspectives.

Connecting Technologies. Discovering New Applications:
The Sensor Network Symposium 2026 will take place on October 1, 2026, at the science and business hub Berlin-Adlershof. A pre-event on September 30, 2026 offers an informal networking opportunity – ideal for making first connections and setting the stage for the main event.

The focus is on professionals from engineering, development, and research who want to actively engage rather than just listen. The goal is to connect technologies, ideas, and experiences across industries, enabling new applications, markets, and collaborations.

Technological Insights & Current Trends in Sensor Technology

The program provides compact insights into relevant technological fields, combined with discussions and opportunities for exchange.

A special focus this year is on quantum sensing:
What is behind the current hype? Where are real applications and markets? And how does quantum sensing differ from conventional sensing technologies? A keynote, along with an additional contribution featuring concrete use cases, will provide well-founded insights.

An additional focus is placed on civil security and dual-use applications:
Starting from sensor technologies, current security challenges will be classified and examined from a technological perspective in a keynote. A subsequent dialogue format will bring together perspectives from industry, research, application, and policy, creating space for open exchange.

Further topics include:

  • Innovative sensor integration approaches
  • Sensors for aerospace applications
  • Environmental sensing
  • Sensing for so-called “harsh environments”

In addition, an open hands-on session, “Sensor Technology Up Close,” offers the opportunity to experience a wide range of sensor solutions and applications from different technology fields firsthand and engage directly with the developers behind them.

Who Should Attend?

The event is aimed at professionals in engineering and development, companies in the field of sensor and system development, as well as R&D decision-makers. It also addresses technology companies and research institutions engaged with current technological challenges and relevant target markets.

Participants will benefit from a concise overview of current developments in sensor technology, along with a well-founded classification of trend topics versus real-world applications. In addition, cross-industry perspectives provide new impulses, while direct exchange with key regional stakeholders opens up valuable networking opportunities.

Save the Date & Get Involved

In addition to attending, there is currently still the opportunity to apply as a speaker and contribute your own technologies or perspectives to the program.

Furthermore, companies and research institutions are invited to actively participate in the hands-on session “Sensor Technology Up Close”, showcasing their technologies and making them tangible on site. Join now and take the opportunity to position your technological solution, gain visibility, and actively contribute to shaping the program.

Because often, the most exciting technologies are closer than you think – you just need to discover them!
