Summer School 2026

Meet Future Engineers – Internationales Networking bei IVAM
Jul 14, 2026, 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
members-only in-person
IVAM, Dortmund

Germany is an extremely attractive employer location for international engineering students.

Why?

What do cars, X-rays, and MP3s have in common?

They were all first engineered in Germany!

Today, Germany is one of the world’s leading exporters of machinery and high technology—also thanks to the SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises). These SMEs make up around 99% of all companies in Germany and form the backbone of the country’s technological success. They specialize in key technologies that together enable the highly advanced products we use every day.

For SMEs, this presents great opportunities: international young professionals bring not only technical expertise but also new perspectives and intercultural skills—and can help actively address the growing shortage of skilled workers. Cities like Dortmund offer ideal conditions for collaboration with their strong networks between science and industry, vibrant technology landscape, and central location.

📅 Tuesday, July 14, 2026 | ⏰ from 3:30 PM | 📍 IVAM, Dortmund

On July 14, 2026, from 3:30 PM, we will welcome 20 international students from 19 nations at IVAM in Dortmund. They are participating in the Summer School “The Business of German Engineering” at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and are engaged with future-oriented topics such as microtechnology, medical technology, sensor technology, energy technology, and mechatronics. The goal is an open networking event in a relaxed atmosphere with representatives from IVAM member companies—no presentations, no trade show booth, just personal exchange.

IVAM members have the opportunity to participate actively – if interested, please feel free to contact me!
