8. Wearables Lunch Talk

Smart Textiles
Jun 9, 2022, 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Zoom Meeting

Smart textiles are textiles that are equipped with electronic components, conductive yarns or small sensors and thus develop into high-tech products. For example, they cool athletes or can be flicked on and off like a switch. Until recently, it was a challenge to link textiles with electronic components because there was a lack of methods to fix the electronics securely, robustly and quickly to the soft textiles. Now, textile researchers have developed many durable smart textiles, and fascinating new applications are being added every year.

Therefore, the Wearables Lunch Talk will focus on "Smart Textiles" and will be held on Thursday, June 09, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm (CEST). This time, the Wearables Lunch Talk will be held in cooperation with Zenit as part of the fair Techtextil and Smart & Technical Textiles and is therefore also open to non-members of IVAM free of charge.

Speakers are:

  • Jessica Smarsch, Designerin: "Connextyle: techstyle for rehabilitation - exploring new potentials in textile-integrated electronics"
  • Werner Kordel and Dr. Frank Wendler, POLYMAAR: "Smartpolymer - functional fibres for temperature Regulation and SkinCare"
  • Gernot Sümmermann, Cynteract GmbH: "Gamification & Health Care with a smart glove"
  • Aliki Goritsa, Pepper Vally: "Feel More Knitwear by Pepper Vally®: User-Friendly & Eco-Electronic Textiles & Clothing Solutions"

You are welcome to register for participation in our Wearables Lunch Talk via the Smart and Technical Textiles registration form.
