EU project promotes industrial production of 3D structures

In the framework of the EU-funded project PHENOmenon, Multiphoton Optics has made great strides in boosting the fabrication speed of 3D structures. Massive parallel fabrication has been implemented into the High Precision 3D Printer LithoProf3D-GSIIP: The equipment simultaneously prints 121 structures of 4 µm x 4 µm x 12 µm size in 70 seconds with high quality, using a specially designed optics from IMT Atlantique. Serial fabrication of this amount of structures would need approximately 2.5 hours.

The PHENOmenon project consists of twelve partners in five different EU countries with the main goal to raise 2D and 3D printing based on lasers to a new level. As part of the project Multiphoton Optics uses their technology to reach the common goal set by the PHENOmenon partners.

Resource-saving demonstration through virtual tours at trade fairs and exhibitions

Furthermore, Multiphoton Optics has entered a partnership with Czech start-up VRgineers, who developed their novel VR headset XTAL. The system is used at trade shows and exhibitions to take visitors on a virtual tour around the LithoProf3D. Users can interact and experience features of the machine in 5k imagery and in a 180-degree field-of-view.

By using virtual reality to showcase the equipment instead of shipping it to various locations, the company saves 95 tons of CO2 p.a. The trade show carbon footprint is hereby reduced by 98.5%. Multiphoton Optics is dedicated to sustainability and saving resources and thus welcomed the opportunity to partner with another innovative start-up to pursue these goals.
