MSTextiles Forum 2018

Energy for Wearables
Jun 21, 2018
Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration IZM

Gustav-Meyer-Allee 25, 13355 Berlin, DE
Wearables play an increasingly important role in daily life, e.g. in sports, the medical field for recording vital parameters and for use in active therapeutic units, but also to support production processes, aids in road traffic, etc.

Wearables consist of different micro- and nanotechnical, optical and digital components. One of the most important parts is the power supply of these components. They have to be mobile and therefore small and light. They have to store enough energy over a long period of time. Used batteries must be easily rechargeable or replaceable. New concepts for energy production or energy saving are necessary.

The MSTextiles Forum 2018 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration will address these challenges. It will highlight and discuss the latest applications and development trends in technologies and products.

In the presentations the state of the art in the development and manufacture of mobile power systems will be shown.

The advantages and possibilities of nano- an microtechnology applications will be discussed in 3 Sessions:

1. Alternative Energy Production
2. Latest Battery Technology
3. Efficient Energy Management

The conference language is English.
