On February 21 and 22, 2018, the W3 + FAIR, the innovative networking trade fair for optics, electronics and mechanics, will take place in Wetzlar for the fifth time.
The central and focal point of the W3 + FAIR is to bring the high-tech industries closer together, facilitate the way for new technologies. At the event, the three traditional sectors are merging into a new, unique think tank. This provides innovative solutions in areas such as space travel, autonomous driving, medical technology, digitization and many others.
Gold Partners Wetzlar Network and – newly on-board – EPIC are supporting the event with international contacts and know-how. With 186 companies and partners and more than 3000 visitors, in 2017 the W3+ FAIR set a new exhibitor and visitor record, proving itself to be an effective knowledge transfer, networking and new business platform for precision technologies.
One of the cornerstones of the W3+ FAIR is the freely accessible fringe programme. Once again in 2018, a broad range of interesting topics and speakers. Events to look forward to include the innovative EPIC Tech Watch, as well a presentation delivered by the ELI Beamlines EU laser project based in the Czech Republic. Spectaris, the industrial association, has announced it will be hosting a panel of experts. On the other hand, the “IT Security and Industry 4.0.” workshop organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Lahn-Dill promises a practical take on the issues.
